Yesterday I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 beta 7, later I realized that my phone internet wasn’t working. I explored the settings and found that my APN settings were missing Settings-> General-> Nework-> Cellular Data. Access Point Name (APN) is a computer protocol that typically allows a user’s computer to access the internet using the mobile phone network.
Following are the instructions to edit the Access Point Name (APN) for carrier services on iPhone.
- If your carrier allows : you to edit the APN settings or if you have an authorized, unlocked iPhone, you can edit your APN using: Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network.
- If your carrier don’t allows : visit this website, http://unlockit.co.nz using your iPhone Safari with Wifi and tap to custom APN.
Now enter your APN information and hit the create profile button, and the website will create a profile and install to your iPhone. After installation turn your WiFi off and reboot your iPhone.
