that doesn’t work on my ipad… i installed another software from cydia… and i cant make the apple logo disappear, when i plug the ipad it starts immediately… i think i will have to restore it again

I haven’t upgraded my Ipad to 4.2.1 yet. Should I still install with the Cydia box checked 1st and than follow your instructions 2nd time round if it freezes on the apple logo?

I am still stuck with the Apple logo in spite of checking “just boot tethered right now”
The thing is, As soon as i upgrade Cydia and reboot devise I get stuck and it will not reboot. Any help will be appreciated

I tried doing this but every single time i turn off my ipad it gets stuck on the apple logo…. In order to make the ipad work i gotta do the tether thing again. Im getting freaked out with this. How can i make it permanent????

How do you fix this problem permanently, because this way we have to reboot with redsn0w every time…..

just keep your apple, pineapple, greenpois0n logo stuck device connected to ur pc nd frgt abt it fr 30 mins……it will restart several times and wala !! ur back on your device ; and once you are back on your device, try to figure out , installation of which app made your iphone hang on logo (in most cases, the last app installed on phone , which uses mobilesubstrate and needs/suggests reboot), go to cydia , uninstall app, uninstall mobilesubstrate , reinstall it and you’re good to go >> problem permanently solved

note : if you do not want this to happen again, never, i repeat never-ever install WINTERBOARD or any other theme tweaking, just stay on apple default

note : for people with permission errors, who messed with ip4’s disk(ssh) hard luck =( there is no other way than restore/upgrade

thats right it works but the problem you cant do this each time u reboot the ipad coz it will be stuck again after u tethered, try to reboot and u have the same problem and you to tethered again

it works however the “stuck apple logo cycle” still happens every time the iPad reboots.. Does this happen on earlier firmwares? I’m new to Apple devices so I started with iOS 4.2.1

No need to boot to tethered. Re-jailbreak your apple device using GreenPoison.
