iPhone 5, iPad 2 identified in iOS 4.3

by admin on January 14, 2011

Folks over Engadget has come across the reference  of next gen iPhone and iPad while exploring iOS 4.3 code. Current generation iPhone 4 to 3.1 (via AT & T ) and 3.2 ( Verizon CDMA). What will reference the 3.3 that you can see in the image? may be iPhone Sprint or T-Mobile. Regarding the iPhone 4.1 and 4.2 , we can speculate an iPhone 5 this summer. The good thing is that we have a jump in numbers (from 3.1 to 4.1 and from 3.2 to 4.2) suggesting that we will have several changes in hardware.

Remember that the first generation iPhone to iPhone 3G retained the same numbering in the model (of iPhone1, 1 to iPhone1, 2) while the iPhone 3GS presented as iPhone2, 1.

Code snippet also revealed reference numbers for next generation iPad, Code name iPad 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 respectively to iPad 2 WiFi, GSM and CDMA.

Rumor of the day : Apple could say goodbye to the beloved and home button.

iPhone3,3 is most likely for T-mobile, as the iPhone3,2 wouldn’t require any different hardware to run on sprint, unless they add WiMax to the iPhone 4 for sprint’s 4G— I doubt that would happen. Where t-Mobile does require an additional band for 3G (or their “4G” HSPA+)
