Next Version of iPhone may have Qualcomm Baseband

by admin on January 24, 2011

Zibri is back in the iPhone scene once again, Zibri was the very first person to release  jailbreak and unlock for iPhone 2G (classic) v1.1.2 firmware through ZiPhone. The reason for Zibri who after years of absence returns to the "crime scene" with a shocking discovery! As the Zibri , through the code the latest version of iTunes there are many reports indicating support Qualcomm basebands :

baseband

In the picture above you see a "chunk" of code from the latest iTunes.Maybe, for the most of you, names like "partition.mbn" or "AMSS.MBN" means little or nothing. For me and a few others that means only one thing: QUALCOMM.Those files are the building blocks of any Qualcomm baseband.

So I can tell you that the next wave of products will be using a QUALCOMM baseband.Which one I don’t know … maybe the iPad2, maybe the iPhone5most probably all of them. What is clear is that they are testing them using the same iTunes you have on your hard drives.
