Today, I’m going to describe some steps that you can use if you want to know how to fix blue screen error in Windows 7, 8, 10 or any version. This blue screen seems like the death screen where no functionalities are usable.
#1 Reset Overclocking
It is the first method that everyone should try before going any further. Many times the little step can save you from hours of uncertainty and anxiety due to that blue screen.
It may happen due to overclocking that means the clock rate is faster than it is designed to run. So here are the steps to reset the clock speed:
- Turn on your windows and press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the device gets shut off.
- Now turn it on, and now a screen will appear, so you have to wait for that.
- As the logo screen appears, so you need to press a combination of keys at that time. These combinations can be CTRL + ALT + DEL or CTRL + ALT + ESC whichever works for you.
- You can also try pressing F1, F2, F10, ESC or Del key too if any of them do not work.
- This way you will get the BIOS screen, and then you see ‘Load Setup Defaults.’. You just need to click this option and press enter key or OK.

— Now you can see all the details about the adapters, processors, drivers, networks, and more.
— Just expand the drivers’ section and see which one is outdated. Always check the malfunctioning drivers by finding a yellow exclamation mark at the beginning of any of these.
— You will also find an option saying update drivers after right-clicking any driver, just click on it, and Windows will automatically update it for you.
#3 Perform a Memory Test

- First, you need to have the Microsoft Bootable Windows OS DVD ROM, insert it and restart your PC.

- Look for the option – First Boot Device to your DVD ROM, Second – Boot Device to your Hard Disk and check both of these. Save the changes and restart the device.
- Now the process goes further, and when it prompts you then press R. It will recover the functionality and go for your OS such as Windows 7, XP or any that you are using right now.
- A command prompt will appear, and you need to paste ‘Expand x: i386 ntoskrnl.ex_ c: windows system32.’
- Here ‘x’ is the drive name of your CD ROM, so you need to replace x with the particular drive name. For example, your CD ROM drive can be ‘J’ ‘Y’ or any other letter.
- Now you need to hit enter and when prompted again then press Y for Yes.
- Save the setup and restart the device again.
#5 Find Bad Sectors and Replace Them
The chances are that your device has a corrupted hard disk and it results to create bad sectors.
